New ALL STAR CHALLENGE SCORING

ALL STAR CHALLENGE has adopted a new scoring system to be used for the 2012-2013 season.

What has changed: After surveying many of our long time customers, and in an effort to more fully integrate into the Varsity family of Allstar Competition Brands, ALLSTAR CHALLENGE and Spirit Xpress Regional Events have adopted the Varsity Standard of Scoring for the 2012-2013 Season.
Dennis Worley, a member of the Varsity All Star Scoring Committee, was able to work directly with other Brands’ scoring experts to further define and develop the recently released 2012-2013 Varsity Standard of Scoring. Those familiar with ALLSTAR CHALLENGE over the years will likely recognize some familiar phrasing and philosophies in the “new” standard.
These improvements, along with a desire to increase safety and to accommodate our customers competing with a variety of Varsity Brands, led us to conclude that this change was in the best interest of our clients and their athletes and thus by definition in the best interest of ALLSTAR CHALLENGE.

What has not changed: ALLSTAR CHALLENGE will continue to use coaches, choreographers, and judges current in the industry to judge our events. Our unique method of “Tivo” scoring will continue to give our judges the best opportunity to thoroughly and correctly evaluate a team’s performance. We will utilize category scoring to ensure that industry experts who specialize in those skills are judging a team’s performance and providing valuable feedback and concrete rational to support their scores – something to which ALLSTAR CHALLENGE coaches have become accustomed.
